David Trexler is Senior Vice President, Oncology at EMD Serono, where he is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the US oncology franchise. In this role, he also is a leader in the strategic alliance between Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany and Pfizer to accelerate the two companies’ immuno-oncology portfolios.
With nearly 30 years of pharmaceutical marketing, sales, alliance management and business development experience, Mr. Trexler brings an accomplished track record of business success to the company.
Prior to joining EMD Serono in 2015, Mr. Trexler spent a decade at Eisai, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Oncology Business Unit in the Americas and was responsible for the company’s oncology portfolio in the US, Canada and Latin America. In this role, he served as an executive member of both the US management team and global oncology business unit.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Trexler served as a senior marketing director at Mylan Bertek Pharmaceuticals and spent nearly 20 years at Sanofi-Aventis in various marketing and sales roles of increasing responsibility.
Mr. Trexler’s past Board memberships include the Health Institute of New Jersey, Sister’s Network, Inc. – a National African American Breast Cancer Survivorship Organization and the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey.
Mr. Trexler holds an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a B.S. in Biology from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
