American Cancer Society
EMD Serono is expanding and enhancing its presence in the area of oncology, especially through ongoing support for the American Cancer Society (ACS) as a leading, national advocacy organization for people living with cancer. EMD Serono has supported the ACS Daffodil Days for fifteen years, raising more than $20,000 dollars for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services programs. An annual highlight is the company’s participation in the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, a five-mile walk through Boston during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). EMD Serono is also actively involved with the ACS Cancer Action Network (CAN). By joining forces with ACS CAN, EMD Serono plays a critical role in uniting community leaders to help ensure continued federal funding for cancer research.

LIVESTRONG & Fertile Hope
EMD Serono has a longstanding relationship with LIVESTRONG’s Fertile Hope, a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors whose medical treatments present risks of infertility. EMD Serono also donates more than $50,000 annually to the Sharing Hope financial assistance program, a fertility preservation initiative that has saved patients over $1.5 million in drug costs.

Participation varies from sponsorship to employee participation. One of the highlights of the year is the Cape Cod Getaway, in which hundreds of riders from EMD Serono participate in a two-day, 150-mile bike ride. This is the largest MS ride in New England and EMD Serono is proud to help raise funds for research and help those fighting this disease live better.

The MAGIC (Major Aspects of Growth In Children) Foundation
Through an active partnership, EMD Serono is a supporter of MAGIC, an organization made up of more than 25,000 families whose children (and affected adults) have been diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency or other medical conditions which affect growth.
