Joel VanderMeulen

As Vice President, Operational Effectiveness and Innovation, Joel leads a diverse and collaborative team that focuses on operational effectiveness and innovation topics including, but not limited to, US Data Strategy & Systems, Data Driven Innovation and Analytics, Field Strategy & Planning, Field Force Effectiveness, Commercial Operations and Medical Operations supporting all therapeutic areas.

Joel joined EMD Serono in 2018, serving as Senior Director, Commercial Strategy, Analytics and Operations for our Neurology & Oncology teams. In this role, he delivered high impact strategic and execution focused projects for cross-functional teams.

Joel has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including several positions of increasing responsibility at Eli Lily & Company and, most recently, Intarcia Therapeutics.

Joel holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wayne State University and a Bachelors of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
