As Head of North America Medical Affairs, Rogelio leads the Medical Affairs organization across the US and Canada with accountability for medical strategy across all therapeutic areas, medical excellence, field medical and medical outcomes, value & engagement. He partners closely with R&D, Global Medical Affairs and Commercial to ensure the compliant integration of scientific strategy with business priorities while driving innovation across the full product lifecycle.

Rogelio brings more than 20 years of leadership in Medical Affairs and Clinical Development across a broad range of therapeutic areas with a distinguished track record of achieving multiple regulatory approvals and executing several high-impact product launches.

He joins EMD Serono from Jazz Pharmaceuticals, where he served as Vice President and Global Head of Medical Affairs. Prior to Jazz, he was Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs North America at Sanofi.

Rogelio holds an MD from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He completed postdoctoral research at King’s College London and clinical training at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery at University College London.
